Abstract

This article is the product of the research process forward through the project "Training of critical thinking in the area of Social Sciences" funded by the Research Center of the National Pedagogical University - CIUP. It discusses the concepts that has built a group of teachers about the nature of critical thinking in teaching social sciences, from two perspectives identified in the study: which it considers critical thinking as a mental operation, a process or an investigation, through which students solve problems or operate in schooling and everyday life, and that which sees it as a thought, an action and a permanent stance that reveal social injustices, advocate equality and work in social exchange perspective.
