PROFILE OF VALUES IN UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE LLANOS

Abstract

The purposes of this paper are: to publicize the value profile of undergraduates at the University of the Llanos, identify the relative importance they attach to each value and formulate courses of action against the formation of the student. This is a descriptive study with qualitative trend that developed in two phases: the first phase was used measurement scale "Study of Values" Gordon W. Allport, Phillip E., applied to a sample of 432 students, 249 women and 183 men. In the second phase, developed eight focus group discussions, four made up of students and four teachers. The profile of students shows a trend towards economic value styles and theoretical, on average, the social, political and religious, and a low score on the aesthetic. The student profile indicates a tendency towards a social values, on average, the theoretical values, economic, aesthetic and religious, and a low score politically. The lines of action in which the university should work to promote the education of their students revolve around four categories in order of importance are: teaching, design, comfort and communication.
