Abstract
El cambio de paradigma del niño considerado como objeto de intervención al desujeto de derechos tiene un fuerte antecedente en Rousseau. En su pensamiento, se encuentra un giro en la forma de concebir al niño, de modo que deja de asumirlo como futuro adulto y se le acepta como niño con su propia perfección. Este aspecto, con diferencias en los énfasis y en los desarrollos, es retomado por los autores liberacionistas para dejar de lado la edad como criterio diferenciador y para asumir la confianza en las capacidades infantiles, lo que constituye un punto neurálgico en la construcción de esta nueva concepción.
