Development and quality of life. A critical perspective from the thought of Amartya Sen

Abstract
In this article of reflective nature, starts from the idea that current conditions of development, as well as quality of life, have to be addressed coherently since the manner that have been traditionally studied is today in crisis. In light of this, raises an alternative connection, to get closer to the reference phenomenon, underlinning at the centre of debate the capacities approach contributions proposed by Amartya Sen. From that, reflects route which emphasis the qualitative assessment of development and quality of life. Social subjects acquire centrality in this proposal, since it takes in to account the subjective perception they have about their living conditions and in the context that determines them.
