THE FEMININE BODY IN IMPRISONMENT
Main Article Content
Abstract
In Colombia there exist a few understanding studies about the body of women deprived of liberty. This work presents the results of the research around corporal experiences in totalitarian regimes parting from four interpretation cores: the life trajectories contextualization of the prisoners before their imprisonment process; the microphysics of social-disciplinary mechanisms that domesticate the prisoners’ body; a critical look at the molecular dimension of the corporal experience in prison and an analysis about the typologies of the inmates. These pieces of information were collected through a qualitative methodology and the design of narratives during the research process at the Reclusión de Mujeres de Bogotá between August of 2011 and May of 2012 with the porpoise of contributing to the comprehension of subjectivities that emerge from imprisonment.
