Escuela e identidad social. Comprensión y acción de procesos de inclusión social

Abstract
Se presenta una revisión teórica alrededor de la identidad y la educación que argumenta la pertinencia de la categoría identidad social para comprender procesos de inclusión social. A partir de la reflexión sobre la pluralidad y diversidad de los actores educativos y el reconocimiento de las tensiones y conflictos entre individuos, grupos y culturas se realiza una mirada que parte de la discusión sobre la identidad social y su pertinencia para abordar diversos fenómenos sociales a nivel teórico y empírico. En el desarrollo del artículo se presentan algunos hallazgos de investigaciones alrededor de identidad social y educación, se discute el papel de la escuela y sus dificultades frente a la construcción de identidades sociales y las dinámicas de homogeneidad y heterogeneidad presentes en el mundo escolar. Finalmente, se generan interrogantes de posibles indagaciones y formas de abordaje de procesos implicados en la construcción de identidades sociales en el contexto escolar.
