Narratives on upper secondary student participation and organization. What actions do they undertake and what capacities do they mobilize?
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper includes the results of the research project Experiences of Participation and Citizenship building of Young upper secondary education. It was initiated at a campus of the Instituto de Educación Media Superior (IEMS) in Mexico City and defined as exploratory and descriptive. Its general objective was to systematize experiences from the perspective of young people and was based on a methodological design that prioritizes the discussion group technique.
What is reported in this contribution corresponds to the diversity of activities young people engage in, as well as the themes or issues that motivate them and lead them to organizing. However, these do not correspond to global or emerging themes reported in other works about citizenship building in Mexico. It concludes with a reflection on the youthful dispositions identified in their narratives that can lead to the mobilization of ethical and political capacities for civic life.
